The swing of her hips
were like waves
lapping away in the ocean
She walks as if
the universe is
held captive on her palm
Straight-backed
like you’re impenetrable
Eyes violent-
you’re too efficacious to waver
She traipsed across that pavement
like she owned it
Concrete caved delicately
beneath her soles
the method molded in her soul
I couldn’t tear my eyes away
It’s a graceful amble
a slight gamble
to see if my poise
will wither before that cements
as she eats up time along it
There are words
etched into that sway
pictured memories dancing
along her casing
just asking for me to grovel
With my knees
tinged with reverence
paying her tongues of homage
yet she scorns me
