It is autumn now
The last time we spoke
was when the summer breeze
was still kissing the trees
Now they are dying
their brittle dances
wherever you are
It is just lively here
Those twigs have grown
producing lilac and crimson
petals that eat
the ground up
You would be quite envious
of that cold cutting
through the edge of the earth
How juxtaposed is my mind
that I should think up
warm touches
while frost bites my cheeks
I remember that sun
those rays calculated
now drowned out by this
vast grey that mars my sky
I’ll remember that feeling
How fleeting those feelings were
They lasted
but only a season
a sign that
nothing ever lasts
