The Dispute With God

There are firm pillars

lining the walls of my heart

blocking

that amorous aura you send me

I always get these segments

With rough patches of slug

that dehumanize

our logic

I had once thought it was God

His mighty hand

coming down to

chastise us

A firm grip

latched round our throats

to wash out the yearning

that you fed me

But I had a faculty

I could perfectly perceive

how exquisite you are

oh so ethereal

with that glow on your face

Darling

I’d fight off the Gods themselves

bring down

Elysium

just for a taste of that fidelity
